Covid-19 Policies & Procedures

Updated May 7, 2023: Masks are not required. But we are always mask friendly.

Overview

During the height of the pandemic we took every reasonable precaution available to maintain social distancing in the studio, including updating procedures for regular cleaning and disinfection of equipment. To the greatest extent possible, these precautions meet or exceed the guidelines and requirements issued by the State of Ohio Department of Health in regards to gyms and exercise facilities.

As of April 2023, the CDC risk map for Cuyahoga County was set at Low for the transmission of Covid-19, and it stayed there for over a month. We are now officially back to many of our pre-pandemic operations where we can offer more spaces in classes. What hasn’t changed is our cleaning procedures, mask welcoming, and continued monitoring of contagious illnesses which may impact our students and staff. Please read below for key policies that are still in place and changes to others.

HIGHLIGHTS

No walk-ins. Every class, party, and lesson is by reservation/appointment only.
– Masks are optional at this time. We will always be mask friendly and as long as we are running optional we will support your choice to mask or not to mask in studio, and to change your mind. You need to never feel like we need a reason for your choice.
– Students and staff who are actively sick should not attend. People experiencing lingering symptoms are encouraged to mask.
– All necessary student paperwork is to be completed digitally. We no longer have paper forms. Waivers and other forms must be completed prior to your class or lesson.

  • General Mitigation Strategies: Our Physical Space & Management/Staff Responsibilities

    – We are currently Mask Optional. We are always Mask Friendly.
    – We will not allow walk-ins or guests. All activities are by appointment only.
    – When possible, staff will escort party groups and new private lesson students in and out of the building.
    – Staff is required to complete specific checklists for cleaning and disinfecting equipment, bathrooms, and high touch surfaces prior to the arrival of students, between class bookings, and once all students have departed.
    – Hand sanitizer will be available at check-in and in each studio room.
    – The bathrooms have been updated to provide single use disposable paper towels for hand washing.
    – For pole classes, each pole will have its own pole cleaning cloth for students on that pole to use for the duration of class. In addition, quick floor sanitizer will be available for staff and student use during class as needed with fresh mop pads. At the end of class, used mop pads and cloths will be placed in a hamper. Each studio room has been updated with its own hamper.
    – Equipment sharing is a possibility when you sign up for a class. You are welcome to wear a mask, and use sanitizer any time, but we cannot guarantee you will have a pole, lyra, or other equipment to yourself. We did run classes for 3 years of the pandemic with 1 person per pole. However, that came at a great cost to the business. We were not able to invest in any improvements, and ownership salaries were cut so staff and the bills could be paid. Industry standard for pole and aerial studios is shared equipment. We are back to industry standard, but will also never go over 3 people per pole. (More students will share a lyra in that class since we only have 3 lyras)
    – In studio appointments will be staggered between rooms and overall to allow for full cleaning between classes and bookings.
    – Food is not allowed in studio. Staff may eat meals during a long day between classes, and in a designated staff only space. Exceptions are quick snacks like fruit, nuts, granola bars etc.

  • General Mitigation Strategies: Responsibilities of Students and Groups

    – Students are required to arrive on time.
No one will be admitted more than 10 minutes after the start time.
No students are permitted to arrive more than 10 minutes before class.
All students must depart the studio no more than 10 minutes after class.
    – All paperwork is to be completed digitally prior to arrival at the studio.
    – During classes that use studio equipment such as poles, students will be given access to sanitizing and disinfecting products specific to that piece of equipment to reduce sharing of towels, spray bottles, etc.
    – Students are encouraged bring their own yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, etc if that class requires those props.
We do have all this equipment available to borrow if needed and will sanitize it between classes.
    – Students should plan to arrive ready for their class with as much appropriate clothing on as possible to reduce the need to change in the bathroom.
    – Students are permitted to bring water only in the studio. A protein bar or similar snack is permitted for those taking multiple classes in a day.
(There are also snack exceptions for anyone who needs to manage blood sugar with food.)
    – Place all pole towels in the hamper located within each studio room after class. Shared equipment such as yoga blocks is to be left for the instructor to disinfect after class.

  • General Mitigation Strategies: Cleaning & Disinfecting Products We Use

We have chosen products on the EPA’s list of disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2, which regulates surface sanitizing and disinfecting products.
Other products that can be used for surfaces AND directly on hands and skin (e.g. our pole cleaner for use during classes) are regulated by the FDA. We have chosen these types of products that meet or exceed the CDC’s recommendation to contain at least 60% ethanol alcohol or 70% isopropyl alcohol in order to be effective against SARS-CoV-2.

    – Each pole will have its own spray bottle with an 70% alcohol solution which is to be sprayed on a cloth and applied to the pole. Between classes the poles will be allowed to air dry to maximize disinfection time.

    – All other surfaces including door knobs, light switches, bathroom surfaces, and floors can quickly and easily be sanitized or disinfected with a hypochlorous acid solution that is approved for use in hospitals, schools, daycares, restaurants, and gyms.
Here is our overall surface sanitizing and disinfecting product: Force of Nature, (EPA Registration Number 93040-1)

    – In addition we may also use approved Lysol and Clorox products for cleaning.

  • Party & Group Policies

    Overall Party Policies

    – We are Mask Optional at this time, and we will always be a mask friendly place for anyone who chooses to wear one. However, this can change immediately at any time IF the CDC Community Transmission Map shows “Medium” or “High” for Cuyahoga county. This means you could book a party during a mask optional time, but if the map changes just before your party you will be notified that masks will be again required at all times. We will not issue refunds for changes in our mask policy.
    – Due to the new capacity restrictions, there is a very strict 10-12 person maximum for all parties (depending on room). We have 5-6 poles total for students to use, so people will have to decide in advance who they want to share a pole with. Each person is to remain with the pole they have chosen, and with their partner if they have one, for the duration of the lesson.
Everyone must arrive on time. The instructor will escort everyone into and out of our building as one group. There cannot be any late arrivals. We have a large parking lot with free parking, and we ask that everyone waits in their cars until their appointment time as other people may be entering and leaving our office building as you wait.
No food or drink is permitted. Bottled water is ok, but nothing beyond that.

    Party Itinerary
Here is a timeline of a party from start to finish.

Before you leave your home make sure you are dressed in the clothing you will need for the activity. A great idea is to wear these clothes underneath an outfit so you don’t really have to change.

    – 10 minutes before your party start time: Everyone arrives in our parking lot, and the organizer sends us a text to let us know everyone is here.

    – 5 minutes before your party start time: The instructor comes down to let everyone in the building. All participants can head up to the studio as a group with the instructor.

    – Party start time: The lesson begins! Remember to bring your own water bottles for quick sips.

    – 15 minutes before your party end time: We finish up the lesson. There is some time for last minute questions and pictures.

    – Party end time: The instructor will take the group back down to exit the building. We adhere to strict timeline so we have ample time to disinfect the entire studio for the next group.

  • 1-on-1 Private Lesson Policies

    Overall Private Lesson Policies

This means you could book a private lesson during a mask optional time, but if the map changes just before your lesson you will be notified that masks will be again required at all times. We will not issue refunds for changes in our mask policy.

    Private Lesson Itinerary
Here is a timeline of a private lesson from start to finish.

Before you leave your home make sure you are dressed in the clothing you will need for the activity. A great idea is to wear these clothes underneath an outfit so you don’t really have to change.

Arrive on time, or 10 minutes or so early. Once you arrive, please text us to let us know so the instructor can escort you into the building. We have a large parking lot with free parking, and we ask that everyone waits in their cars until their appointment time as other people may be entering and leaving our office building as you wait.

    – Make sure you have told us ahead of time if you have accessibility needs. Access to our studio is typically by taking the stairs. There is a manual freight elevator for accessibility, but it isn’t preferred. If you can take the stairs, please do. We take them all the time and think of it as a warm-up.

    – We ask that all students depart the studio promptly after their lesson, within 10 minutes after the end time. This ensures we have plenty of time between appointments for full sanitizing and disinfecting.

Thank you for helping us!
