This June is bringing you several brand new series, chances to get bendier, and several classes for exploring the sexier side of pole!

It’s Flexibility Month at CED!

Each month at Cleveland Eclectic Dance we focus on a different skill, style of dance, or body part in all of regular classes.  This month at CED, we will be focusing on safely increasing flexibility.

In all of your classes this month, there will be an added focus on training for flexibility, and moves that require added flexibility (or look like they do).

To help you with your flexibility goals, we offer a weekly Flexibility Training every Tuesday at 6:40pm.

This is a goal oriented stretching class which uses a variety of stretching and muscle activation methods to help you achieve your flexibility goals with an emphasis on Active Flexibility. Learn safe and effective ways to stretch for various kinds of splits, back bends, shoulder flexibility, and more. You can join ANY TIME, and bring your personal goals. Everything in the body is connected. So, even if your main goal is splits but the class is working on back flexibility, you should still be here! There is plenty in back bend work that will help your splits, and vice versa… for every class program you will find techniques to help you achieve your individual goals.

Pole Progressions: Time to Level Up
Mondays, June 7th & 24th 7:45-8:45pm
In studio only

The core pole moves build upon each other. There are key grips, points of contacts, and momentum methods that are the basis for several moves that will build one right off the other. Skipping over difficult fundamental moves inevitably leads to not being able to progress when building combos.

At CED we have our pole classes leveled 1 through 6, and there are fundamental moves in each level that are necessary for progressing on to the next level. We know that moves can be leveled, but humans rarely are, so this two week series is geared at helping you master any missing goal moves and leveling up on both sides (I know, but you’ll thank us).

Week 1 of this two week series will be dedicated to going through the progressions for each of our Pole Level Goals, and seeing where you are in your progressions on each side. Week 2 will be focusing more on an individual training plan for each student to help you master tricky moves and graduate to the next level.

Prior pole experience is recommended for this series, but it is open to pole students Level 1 and up.

The class is $35 for both weeks, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Lyra Transitions
Thursday, June 20th 6:15-7:15pm
In Studio Only

How do we get from one pose to the next? In this class we’ll be drilling specific rolls, beginner drops, and other transitions to get from point A to point B on the lyra.

Prior lyra experience is required for this class. Prerequisites include familiarity with delilah, amazon, and cradle – but if you are interested in attending but unsure about specific poses, please feel free to check in with the instructor.

Accommodations will be provided wherever possible.

This class is $25 per person, and is included on all Lyra Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Pole Choreography: Sensual Slut
Wednesdays, June 26th-July 31st 7:15-8:15pm
In Studio Only

As we head into the heat of the summer and get ready to celebrate Bring Back Sexy month this July, join us for another Stripper Style Choreography series. This series will introduce more low-flow movements, threads & weaves, and other elements of thready and twisty modern pole styles, but still peppered with some classic stripper poses and movements.

Throughout the class, you’ll learn choreographed pole sequences step-by-step, alongside ways to engage your senses and imagination to embrace and express your sensuality freely through the movements. There’s no performance goal at the end; we’re here to enjoy the flow of the music and have fun. But you certainly could find inspiration for future performances in a studio showcase.

This class is ideal for those who have a basic understanding of pole dancing, including beginner-level spins, grips, and holds, and can solidly perform a standard pole climb to the ceiling. This foundational strength and coordination are crucial for mastering the threads and weaves we’ll explore. Recommended for students with their climb at level 2 or higher.

Feel free to reach out to Roxi with any questions or to confirm if this class is right for you. Come slink around with us and relish in your sensually slutty side of pole in a supportive, judgment-free space.

The series is $105 for all six weeks, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

High Heel Mastery
Sunday, June 30th 2:15-3:45pm
In Studio Only

Whether they are 1/2 an inch or sky high, walking and dancing in heels is a skill you probably weren’t taught, or were afraid to practice much for fear of looking silly. We welcome you to our judgment-free, inclusive environment to learn and practice. By the end of this class you will walk out more confidently in your high heels.

You will learn about adjusting your body posture and weight distribution in order to feel balanced, and how this might change depending on the type of heel you are wearing (stiletto, platform, pump, wedge, etc). We will go over the differences in the human stride between flat foot walking and high heel walking, and the various ways we can shift the movement through our bodies using the pelvis as a focal point of movement. We will also go over stretching and strength training exercises to lessen the risk of twisting an ankle or developing repetitive strain injuries due to high heels.

Throughout the class we will practice walking in various scenarios including up and down stairs, as well as going out for social dancing.

Beginners welcome!

This class is $25 per person.

Dance Like a Stripper
Sunday, June 30th 2:15-3:45pm
In Studio Only

Come join the Stripper Style army at CED! This is an untamed and explicit 6 week experience that will have you rolling your body, shaking your booty, and loving your body like no other class out there.

This series is intended for those who want to explore this style of movement for various reasons.
Confidence
Body Awareness
Sexual Agency
Self Ownership
Expression and Erotic Artistry
Fun
Curiosity about strippers and strip clubs (bring your questions!)
This is not necessarily a class for getting a job at a strip club, but we will certainly support you if that’s where you want to go with it.

By the time the 6 weeks is over you’ll be ready to take it to a stage, and we will provide that stage. The 6 class sessions will be on Mondays, July 1st-August 5th 7:45-8:45pm. After you finish the series we will hold your graduation!!!! We will turn CED into a mock strip club, complete with club lights, fog, and play money to rain all over you.

This course is intended for ANYONE 18+. All kinds of stripping can be explored here. From the mainstream strip club styles, to alternative adult entertainment. All genders, and the exploration of gender expression, are welcome!

Do you need pole experience? NOPE! Not at all. Pole Dance may have come to us from the strip clubs, but pole is not required for stripper style dance. If you know pole tricks already from other classes, then you can use them in your performance. If you don’t know any pole at all, you will learn everything you need to know that would still be more than a newbie stripper auditioning in a club for the first time. So don’t worry about any lack of pole skill. All you really need for this class is to be ready to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

Dance Like a Stripper is a complete series course meaning all 6 weeks of class are REQUIRED. You do not have to participate in the graduation club night, but we highly recommend that capstone experience. If illness or something else comes up to where you need to miss a class we will do our best to catch you up for the next week. There are no refunds for missed classes. Please be seriously committed to the full series before signing up. Contact us with any questions or potential schedule conflicts you would like to check with us about before signing up.

This class is $100 for all six weeks

Heel Clacks & Bangs
Thursday, July 11th 6:00-7:15pm
In Studio Only

Love heels but not sure what all you can do with them? Whether you’re walking like a pro or wearing heels as decoration, take your footwear to the next level by learning tips and tricks for heel clacks, thwacks, and bangs both on the pole and on the floor!

This class will cover the basics as well as a variety of ways of how to clack the platforms of your stripper shoes together and against the floor.

Platform stripper shoes are required (and available for rent if you don’t already own a pair!), and knee pads are highly recommended.

Newbies welcome! There will be some pole interaction clacks for those who do pole, but it’s not required and there are no pole level requirements. Most of the skills for students newer to pole and this style of dance will be on the floor.

By the end of this class, the moves you’ll do with your shoes will be music to your ears!

This class is $25 per person.
