We’re exploring the sexier side of pole all month long! We’re also exploring lyra basics, Inverted Crucifix, and working on our core muscles in some new series.
July is about Bringing Sexy Back to pole!
United Pole Artists used to run Bringing Sexy Back as a celebration of INDIVIDUAL representations of the sexy side of pole dance every July. They have since stopped running this, hoping rather to promote the fitness side of pole dancing in hopes of it becoming an Olympic sport, but as Cleveland’s sexy pole studio we can’t pass up the chance to celebrate our stripper roots.
The following is a previous statement from UPA’s website that holds strong for us.
“What is Bringing Sexy Back?
Bringing Sexy Back is almost here! It’s the biggest, best and yes, the sexiest two weeks in pole dancing. What is BSB? It’s a time for us all to share our sexy photos, videos and stories of being sexy. Share with us what sexy is to you by using hashtag #SexyBack2022 and #UnitedBySexy.
Pole Dancing is meant to be what ever you want it to be. But sometimes, just being straight up sexy feels so good. Let’s do it Polers, let’s bring sexy back, pole dance style. #UnitedByPole”
While taking your classes at Cleveland Eclectic Dance in July, expect lots of sexy dance moves, combos, and heel work!
Special for Bringing Sexy Back, we are running two classes to help you be loud and proud during BSB Month.
Heel Clacks & Bangs
Thursday, July 11th 6:00-7:15pm
Love heels but not sure what all you can do with them?
Whether you’re walking like a pro or wearing heels as decoration, take your footwear to the next level by learning tips and tricks for heel clacks, thwacks, and bangs both on the pole and on the floor!
This class will cover the basics as well as a variety of ways of how to clack the platforms of your stripper shoes together and against the floor.
Platform stripper shoes are required (and available for rent if you don’t already own a pair!), and knee pads are highly recommended.
Newbies welcome! There will be some pole interaction clacks for those who do pole, but it’s not required and there are no pole level requirements. Most of the skills for students newer to pole and this style of dance will be on the floor. By the end of this class, the moves you’ll do with your shoes will be music to your ears!
This class is $25 per person

This class is for polers Level 3 and up.
This class is $20 per person, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.
Upcoming Specialty Classes & Series
Lyra Fundamentals
Tuesdays, July 16th – August 6th 5:30-6:30pm
In Studio only
What are the different parts of an aerial hoop called? What are the basic components of aerial hoop safety? Why does the lyra never spin how/when I want it to? What are some of the most commonly used skills in aerial hoop? If you’ve ever wanted to know the answers to any of these questions, this series might be for you!
Lyra Fundamentals is a four-week crash course on the aspects of lyra that are frequently rushed through, glossed over, or forgotten about. Your instructor, Nic, designed this series based on their own experience as an aerials student, and feedback they collected over several years as a lyra teacher.
This class is intended for: people who are new to aerials; beginner/hobby aerialists who want to try a new apparatus OR who already practice lyra but don’t feel well-acquainted with its most essential tenets.
The goal of this series is for students to come out of it with a solid grasp on core lyra terminology/concepts and enough information about aerial hoop to continue their aerial practice in a safe, fulfilling way.
Please wear leggings (must go past the knee) and a comfortable, relatively tight-fitting top (any length sleeves, crop tops not recommended). Socks are optional.
The class is $90 for all four weeks, and is included on all Lyra Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Inverted Crucifix Connections
Thursdays, July 25th-August 15th 6:15-7:15pm
In studio only
We’re going to make Inverted Crucifix our comfortable home base and take it from there.
In this four week series we will work on getting into Inverted Crucifix various ways, safe dismounts, and connecting this fundamental move to other moves you already have (plus a few new ones!).
The goal for this series is for Inverted Crucifix to feel as comfortable as your Pole Sit does now. It will be where you come to reset yourself and connect different inverted moves.
Each week of this series builds upon the past, so you must be able to commit to all four classes. Please contact us if you will miss a week.
This class is suitable for pole students level 3 and up. Students must have either an Invert/High V, Reverse Handstand to Inverted Crucifix, or Shooting Star. No need to have all three; we’ll work on the two you don’t have during the series!
The class is $70 for all four weeks, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Lap Dance 101
Saturday, August 10th 12:00-1:30pm
In Studio Only
This all levels class will go over the fundamentals of how to develop and give a lap dance. THIS IS NOT CHOREOGRAPHY TO A SPECIFIC SONG. Rather, we will go over a variety of moves and movements and get comfortable with stringing them together. This way, you’ll be able to give a personalized gift, or spice up your date night however you like.
In addition to learning and training moves, teases, and interactions, we will also examine some differences between giving a lap dance to someone in a chair vs on a sofa or other structure. Depending on the skills and interests of the participants, some more athletic lap dance tricks may be explored in the class, as well.
Feel free to dress as sexy and/or comfortable as you like. Heeled shoes are not required, but always welcome.
This class is $25 per person.
