101 students, August is your month to level up!

Point or Flex: the choice is yours!
Each month at Cleveland Eclectic Dance we focus on a different skill, style of dance, or body part in all of regular classes. This month at CED, we will be examining the pole dancer saying “Point Your F*cking Toes.”
Point & Flex Month is all about stylistic choices in pole from the knees down, and building foot and ankle strength. Some moves in dance certainly do require a pointed ankle for safety reasons, while others require a flexed foot. We will explore the difference, and help you build the strength for both.
For more information on why we made the switch in this monthly theme from “Point Your F*cking Toes Month,” check this blog post from Marlo Fisken from July of 2020.
Featured Class for the Month
Only Feet: Everything but Foot Mount
Monday, Aug 4th 8:00-9:00pm
In Studio Only

Hate Foot Mount? Hey, so does Lisa, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to love it (just not today).
In this special Point & Flex Month pole class we’ll explore using the bottom of our foot for grip, and how to work around grip issues and cramps. We’ll start out working on using our feet to help us slow our descent down the pole, then use them as a way to push away from the pole, but not as the main grip point.
We’ll end the class working on the push off so we can one day maybe perhaps probably not work on foot mount, but we’ll keep inversions out of it.
Needless to say, you’ll need to be barefoot for this class.
This pole class is recommended for polers Level 2 and up.
This class is $21 or 4 tokens, and is included on all Unlimited Passes.

Confidence
Body Awareness
Sexual Agency
Self Ownership
Expression and Erotic Artistry
Fun
Curiosity about strippers and strip clubs (bring your questions!)
This is not necessarily a class for getting a job at a strip club, but we will certainly support you if that’s where you want to go with it. By the time the 6 weeks is over you’ll be ready to take it to a stage, and we will provide that stage. After you finish the series we will hold your graduation!!!! We will turn CED into a mock strip club, complete with club lights, fog, and play money to rain all over you.
This course is intended for ANYONE 18+. All kinds of striping can be explored here. From the mainstream strip club styles, to alternative adult entertainment. All genders, and the exploration of gender expression, are welcome!
Do you need pole experience? NOPE! Not at all. Pole Dance may have come to us from the strip clubs, but pole is not required for stripper style dance. If you know pole tricks already from other classes, then you can use them in your performance. If you don’t know any pole at all, you will learn everything you need to know that would still be more than a newbie stripper auditioning in a club for the first time. So don’t worry about any lack of pole skill. All you really need for this class is to be ready to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself.
Dance Like a Stripper is a complete series course meaning all 6 weeks of class are REQUIRED. You do not have to participate in the graduation club night, but we highly recommend that capstone experience. If illness or something else comes up to where you need to miss a class we will do our best to catch you up for the next week. There are no refunds for missed classes. Please be seriously committed to the full series before signing up.
Contact us with any questions or potential schedule conflicts you would like to check with us about before signing up.
This class is $150 or 28 class tokens for all six weeks plus graduation, and is included on all Unlimited Passes.

Pole Progressions: Time to Level Up
Wednesdays,Aug 20th – Sept 3rd 7:15 – 8:15pm
In Studio Only
The core pole moves build upon each other. There are key grips, points of contacts, and momentum methods that are the basis for several moves that will build one right off the other. Skipping over difficult fundamental moves inevitably leads to not being able to progress when building combos.
At CED we have our pole classes leveled 1 through 6, and there are fundamental moves in each level that are necessary for progressing on to the next level. We know that moves can be leveled, but humans rarely are, so this three week series is geared at helping you master any missing goal moves and leveling up on both sides (I know, but you’ll thank us).

Weeks 1 and 2 of this three week series will be dedicated to going through the progressions for each of our Pole Level Goals, and seeing where you are in your progressions on each side. Week 3 will be focusing more on an individual training plan for each student to help you master tricky moves and graduate to the next level.
Prior pole experience is recommended for this series, but it is open to pole students Level 1 and up.
This class is $65 or 12 tokens for all three weeks, and is included on all Unlimited Passes.

Heel Clacks & Bangs
Sunday, August 31st 1:15-2:45pm
In Studio Only
Love heels but not sure what all you can do with them? Whether you’re walking like a pro or wearing heels as decoration, take your footwear to the next level by learning tips and tricks for heel clacks and shoe bangs both on the pole and on the floor!
This class will cover the basics as well as a variety of ways of how to clack the platforms of your stripper shoes together and against the floor. Some combo options too so you can add the skill directly into your dances. Stripper Style platform shoes are required (and available for rent if you don’t already own a pair!), and knee pads are highly recommended. By the end of this class, the moves you’ll do with your shoes will be music to your ears!
Newbies welcome! There will be some pole options for those who do pole, but it’s not required and there are no pole level requirements. Most of the skills for students newer to pole and this style of dance will be on the floor.
This class is $30 or 5 tokens, and is included on all Unlimited Passes.

Modifications will be made to meet students where they are at.

This is floorwork that doesn’t hold back.
