We have released our weekly class schedule for 2024!

We’ve shuffled around our weekly classes so that we now have room for at least one beginner level pole class daily, multiple specialty series, plus we’ve added back in a daytime pole class!

It’s Dark Side December!

Close up view of clown shoes as someone is putting them on and tying one. Caption: Me getting ready to do my bad side.

Each month at Cleveland Eclectic Dance, we focus on a different skill, style of dance, or body part in all of regular classes.

This month at CED, we’re focusing on training your opposite side. For polers that usually means their weaker side or non-dominant hand; the dreaded “Dark Side.” We will spend the month working to fix any imbalances that you might be creating while poling, and work backwards to make sure you have core moves on both sides.

Having a “bad side” isn’t limited to pole. We will be challenging our lesson flexible and/or side all month long in our Dance & Fitness classes. This may mean learning turns both ways, training splits on your bad side, or learning to lead with your non-dominant side in moves.

Upcoming Specialty Classes & Series

Lap Dance 101
Monday, December 18th 6:00-7:30pm
In Studio Only

Woman in lingerie and heels doing a lap dance style crouch over an empty chair in a red room

This all levels class will go over the fundamentals of how to develop and give a lap dance. THIS IS NOT CHOREOGRAPHY TO A SPECIFIC SONG. Rather, we will go over a variety of moves and movements and get comfortable with stringing them together. This way, you’ll be able to give a personalized gift, or spice up your date night however you like.

In addition to learning and training moves, teases, and interactions, we will also examine some differences between giving a lap dance to someone in a chair vs on a sofa or other structure. Depending on the skills and interests of the participants, some more athletic lap dance tricks may be explored in the class, as well.

Feel free to dress as sexy and/or comfortable as you like. Heeled shoes are not required, but always welcome.
This special workshop is $25 per person.

THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY WAITLISTED. Your card will automatically be charged if you move off of the waitlist.

Dance Like a Stripper
Wednesdays, January 3rd-February 7th 7:30-8:30pm
In Studio Only

Come join the Stripper Style army at CED! This is an untamed and explicit 6 week experience that will have you rolling your body, shaking your booty, and loving your body like no other class out there.

This series is intended for those who want to explore this style of movement for various reasons.
Confidence
Body Awareness
Sexual Agency
Self Ownership
Expression and Erotic Artistry
Fun
Curiosity about strippers and strip clubs (bring your questions!)
This is not necessarily a class for getting a job at a strip club, but we will certainly support you if that’s where you want to go with it.

By the time the 6 weeks is over you’ll be ready to take it to a stage, and we will provide that stage. The 6 class sessions will be on Wednesdays, January 3rd – February 7th, 7:30-8:30pm. After you finish the series we will hold your graduation!!!! We will turn CED into a mock strip club, complete with club lights, fog, and play money to rain all over you.

This course is intended for ANYONE 18+. All kinds of striping can be explored here. From the mainstream strip club styles, to alternative adult entertainment. All genders, and the exploration of gender expression, are welcome!

Do you need pole experience? NOPE! Not at all. Pole Dance may have come to us from the strip clubs, but pole is not required for stripper style dance. If you know pole tricks already from other classes, then you can use them in your performance. If you don’t know any pole at all, you will learn everything you need to know that would still be more than a newbie stripper auditioning in a club for the first time. So don’t worry about any lack of pole skill.
All you really need for this class is to be ready to step outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

Dance Like a Stripper is a complete series course meaning all 6 weeks of class are REQUIRED. You do not have to participate in the graduation club night, but we highly recommend that capstone experience. If illness or something else comes up to where you need to miss a class we will do our best to catch you up for the next week. There are no refunds for missed classes. Please be seriously committed to the full series before signing up. Contact us with any questions or potential schedule conflicts you would like to check with us about before signing up.

This class is $100 for all six weeks.

Preparing for Inverted Pole Holds
Thursdays, January 4th-25th 6:15-7:15pm
In Studio Only

Build the strength and tolerance you need for inverted pole holds without making your kneepits want to cry!

Woman in a black sports top, shorts, and heels inverted on the pole smiling at the camera upside down. Outside on a bright sunny day with fluffy white clouds.

Learn various entries into foundational inverted pole holds such as Inverted Crucifix, Outside Leg Hang, and Outside Leg Hang. We’ll work on inverting into, dropping into, and climbing into various inverted holds, and will learn loads of transitions in and out of each.

The goal for the end of the class is for each student to be able to not just feel more comfortable with foundational inverted pole holds, but to have various entries, combos, and exits added to their arsenal.

Each week of this series builds upon the past, so you must be able to commit to all four classes. Please contact us if you will miss a week.

This class is suitable for pole students level 3 and up. Students must have either an Invert/High V, Reverse Handstand to Inverted Crucifix, or Shooting Star. No need to have all three; we’ll work on the two you don’t have during the series!

The class is $70 for all four weeks, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Spin Pole
Saturdays, January 6th-27th 3:00-4:00pm
In Studio Only

PREVIOUS POLE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS. This is not a course for those brand new to pole.

Transferring pole skills from static to spinning pole takes some adjustments. Sometimes you can do a move in the same way on both, but often in order to control spinning speed and make smooth transitions you will need to adjust where and how you manage your momentum, strength, and center of gravity. In addition, developing tolerance on a Spinning pole takes time.

We will spend 4 weeks focusing on taking what you know to spin pole: from spin combos, to climbing, to inversions for those who are ready. Learn smooth stops and starts, speed control, and how to work with the spin to decrease dizziness. All the while practicing holding simple spins in both directions to continue decreasing dizziness over time so you can eventually stay on the pole longer.

If you thought you hated spin pole before, give it another shot.

This limited series is offered on a single class basis, so there is no need to commit to all four weeks.

Students should be a solid Level 2 or higher. Strong holds, sits, and a basic climb are needed for this class.

Spin Pole will be offered every Saturday in January at 3pm.

Each class is $20 per person, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.

Intro to Pole
Mondays, January 8th-29th 7:45-8:45pm
In Studio Only

Woman on a home pole in an upright crucifix hold.

Whether you’re new to pole or would like to return to the fundamentals, this class is for you!

This 4 week series will go over progressions of pole spins, climbs, and transitions. Whatever your skill level, there will be moves and exercises ready to fit your individual fitness and strength.

Spins and transitions will build strength and coordination to safely perform more intensive moves like climbing, as well as work towards inversions and aerial holds. Along the way we will also practice combining movements together while freestyling to music – so you’ll be ready to dance the night away right away.

THIS CLASS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR JOINING OUR WEEKLY POLE CLASSES, though this series is intended for those that want to learn with others that are working on Pole Level 1 moves exclusively.

The class is $70 for all four weeks, and is included on all Pole Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.
