What scares you? We’ll be exploring scary moves and spooky poses in all of our classes this month! We are also offering several classes and series in preparation for our annual Winter Soiree in December.

September is Scary & Spooky Month!

Each month at Cleveland Eclectic Dance, we focus on a different skill, topic, style of dance, or body part in all of regular classes.  For October, we are focusing on focusing on the moves that scare you most. In your classes this month, we will break down the moves that scare you most into manageable pieces to help you conquer your fear. Expect inversions, drops, and tumbles in your many of you pole classes throughout the month.

In addition to moves that scare you, we will work on moves that seem to be made for Halloween. Think Zombie, Daredevil, Witch, and back bend walks.

Upcoming Specialty Classes & Series

Handstand 101
Saturday, November 4th 3:00-4:00pm

In Studio Only

The first step to being able to achieve a handstand is to understand that you WILL do a handstand….after you have learned the tips and techniques for proper positioning.

Handstands are more than just flipping upside down. Learn all the mechanics. When you take this class, you will learn a variety of exercises at varying comfort levels to achieve proper positioning for a handstand. Even if you do not get a handstand on your first day (not that you are expected to) you will certainly get an amazing workout.

This class is $15, and is included on all Dance & Fitness Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.


Burlesque Choreography
Mondays, November 6th-December 11th 6:00-7:00pm
In Studio Only

You must complete Burlesque 101 or have prior burlesque experience to take this course.

You’ve got your bumps and grinds down. Your walk is on point. You’re evolving and improving in your burlesque persona. What’s next?? Take the burlesque basics to the next level!

Throughout this 6 week course, you will learn combos and choreography, explore musicality and emotion, and complete one entire routine from start to finish!

Students in this series will have the opportunity to perform the group number at the Winter Soiree on Sunday, December 17th.

THIS SERIES IS CURRENTLY WAITLISTED. Your card will automatically be charged if you move off of the waitlist.

The class is $75 for all six weeks, and is included on all Dance & Fitness Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes. 


Stripper Style Choreography
Mondays, November 6th-December 11th 7:30-8:30pm
In Studio Only

Learn a full song length Stripper Style dance in this 6 week series. The choreography will include pole, basework, and floorwork. It’s going to be a slooooow melt like butter kinda vibe this time around, with some added dynamic and unexpected direction changes fusing in a little bit of Strip Plastique/”Russian Exotic” to the Classic American stripper style that you are used to from Roxi.

Like all her choreography classes, moves can be modified to meet you where you are at today with a little challenge for growth. This is a modular choreography. Harder and easier tricks, combos, and sections can be swapped out throughout the song so all students can work within their current learning and skill level in a safe way that supports their pole journey. Not everything can be completely modified though, so we do need students to be around a pole level 3 or higher.

ATTENTION: This is a series where each week the choreography builds off the previous one, and it is a modular choreography so things can change as we go. By signing up you are committing to all 6 classes. If you have to miss one class due to an emergency or illness we will try to work it out, but make-up options are not automatically built into this series. Belly Dance Choreography
Tuesdays, November 7th-December 12th 6:30-7:30pm
In Studio Only

We welcome all students with belly dance experience either from completing Belly Dance 101 at CED, or from training elsewhere, to learn a group belly dance choreography number!

Since this is a choreography class that builds to a full song routine, please make sure you start attending no later than the second week of class to give you plenty of time to learn the dance.

This series will culminate in an opportunity to perform at our Winter Soiree on Sunday, December 17th.

This series is $75 for all six weeks, and is included on all Dance & Fitness Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.


Inversion Training Series
Tuesdays, November 7th-December 12th 7:15-8:15pm
In Studio Only

This series is for students levels 3 and up who are working on inverting but haven’t gotten there yet, and also for those who can invert but would like to strengthen their current inversion and/or work on other techniques.

We will start the first class going over the biomechanics of a standard invert with detailed visuals so you can see what happens and understand how inverts work. Creative exercises and drills are taught that help you feel the invert without fully doing it on the pole so you can set some of the fears aside. Additionally, each student’s current level of muscle engagement, strength, and movement will be assessed in the first 2 weeks of class to determine which exercises and areas of the invert would be most beneficial for the student to focus on throughout the series.

For the final 2 classes the studio will be set up with stations and equipment for exercises this group of students found most helpful in previous weeks. By the end of the series, each student will have a better understanding of inversions on the pole and how that best works for their body. This includes a personalized training plan that takes into consideration equipment they do or do not have available at home, and how to modify the exercise program to fit into their daily life and lifestyle, in conjunction with their specific invert training needs.

Each week builds upon the last so you must come to all classes. There will not be make-ups availableIf you have to miss one class due to an emergency or illness we will try to work it out, but make-up options are not automatically built into this series. You MUST be able to attend the 1st day of class since that sets up for everything else. Contact Roxi with any concerns about attendance.

This class is $105 for all six weeks, and is included on all Unlimited Memberships and Pole Flex Passes.


Sripper Style Night
Sunday, November 12th 5:00-7:00pm
In Studio Only

Part 1: Learn some moves in a Stripper Style Class. 5:00pm-6:00pm Resident stripper and Dance Like a Stripper course instructor, Roxi, will give you a 1 hour crash course in stripper style movement, getting in character, and feelin’ yourself. There will not be any pole tricks taught, since just learning a pole trick can take half the class time. We will go over how to hold onto the pole, walk around it, and use it as a prop for posing as well as getting up and down off the floor. A small combo putting moves together will be taught. We will end with a game about how to get comfortable remixing that combo and adding your own moves, which will lead you into part 2 of the evening.

Part 2: Now it’s grow-up playtime! 6:00pm-7:00pm Let loose with what you’ve learned and it in an uninhibited space complete with low, club-like lighting. (This is open dance time. You do not have to stay the whole 2nd hour.) We are there to create a supportive environment while you get freaky in our open practice time with all the club lights on and music up. Roxi will be happy to answer some more questions, give you more suggestions, do a couple demos, but this is not about teaching. The best way to learn to be a stripper is to start moving and playing like one. We are there to provide that space for you with the music and lights, and lots of encouragement. Heels are not required but always welcome. You also may want knee protection if you like a lot of floor grinding.
This event is $25 per person.
