September is Floorwork Month!
Each month at Cleveland Eclectic Dance, we focus on a different skill, topic, style of dance, or body part in all of regular classes. For September, we are focusing on floorwork. We will spend the month working on taking things to the floor and back up again in most of our classes.
Once we (safely) have you down on the ground, we will begin working on both sexy and more acrobatic moves that you can do on the ground. Floorwork is a great way to add some dimension to many styles of dance!
If you have never worked on floorwork before, we do have yoga mats on hand for your comfort, but it is recommended that you get comfortable enough to move off the mat. A pair of kneepads of leg warmers can help with this. For the month of September students are encouraged to bring kneepads, leg warmers, and/or heels to all of their pole classes.
As always, we offer a weekly Floorwork class on Sundays at 1:15pm. This class is open to brand new students, is $15 per person, and is included on all Dance & Fitness Flex Passes and Unlimited Passes.
For regular Floorwork students, Danni is offering a special one day Advanced Floorwork class on Sunday September 2nd 2:30-3:30pm.
Designed for advanced level students, this class will teach you the art of fluid, seductive movement on the floor, blending elements of dance and fitness. Students will learn an advanced level floorwork routine that highlights flexibility, strength, and fluidity, emphasizing the connection between movement and music.
We’ll cover fundamental floorwork techniques, through guided instruction and practice, students will get the opportunity to assemble these techniques into a polished and expressive routine.

Pole drills and conditioning is what this class is all about! We will use the poles, resistance bands, light hand weights, and our own body weight to help us increase strength, mobility, and stamina.
During this four week series we will address common weaknesses in pole students both new to the style of dance and those with years of experience. We’ll cover the basics week one, and the series will grow over the remaining three weeks as students progress in their skills.
In addition to learning exercises to help with your pole training, we will also cover how to get the most out of your strength training routine.
Prior pole experience is recommended for this series, or some familiarity with strength training.
Please wear workout clothes, but shorts in particular. You will need your legs bare in order to be able to grip the pole. Similarly, please refrain from applying lotion for at least 6 hours prior to class. You will be barefoot for class.
A SAFE HOME POLE IS REQUIRED FOR THE ONLINE OPTION.
